BIG MAPLE LEAF
100 Kilograms of .99999 Fine Gold
One of the most celebrated achievements in modern minting and a defining masterpiece of contemporary numismatics.
Introduced by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2007, the Big Maple Leaf established a new benchmark for precious-metal refinement and large-format coin production. Struck in 100 kilograms of .99999 fine gold and assigned a face value of $1,000,000 CAD, it remains among the most ambitious numismatic creations ever undertaken by a sovereign mint.
Recognized by Guinness World Records upon its introduction as the world’s largest gold coin, the Big Maple Leaf stands as a symbol of technical achievement, rarity, and enduring value.
Fewer individuals have owned a Big Maple Leaf than have traveled to the Moon.
The reverse, designed by Royal Canadian Mint Senior Engraver Stan Witten, features three Canadian sugar maple leaves rendered in extraordinary detail. The obverse bears the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by acclaimed Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt. Each example is finished to proof quality and bears the Mint’s renowned .99999 purity designation.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS
Because of the exceptional value of the acquisition and the bespoke nature of production, orders are not processed through a standard online checkout.
Submitting an inquiry initiates a confidential consultation with our Private Client team. During this process, we discuss acquisition objectives, ownership structure, delivery requirements, custody arrangements, insurance considerations, and timing expectations.
Once eligibility and transaction parameters have been established, a formal quotation and acquisition agreement are prepared before any funds are committed.
No charges are processed prior to execution of the acquisition agreement.
