LUNAR GOOD FORTUNE YEAR OF THE PIG WEALTH WISDOM 2-COIN SET NGC PF70 EARLY RELEASE
The latest addition to The Perth Mint’s Lunar Good Fortune Series, this 2019 Year of the Pig two-coin set makes a unique collector’s item or gift for those born under this lucky sign. The birth dates for people born under the Chinese lunar pig include 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007 and 2019. Each coin features a representation of the fortunate pig with either traditional symbols of wealth and wisdom.
2019 Year of the Pig Designs
The Wealth coin’s reverse depicts a representation of a domestic pig atop a mound of coins in ‘fu’ (fortune) bags. The pig is resting its forelegs on an ancient Chinese coin bearing a blessing of wealth. The inscriptions ‘WEALTH’ and ‘2019 YEAR OF THE PIG’ are also featured in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The Wisdom coin’s reverse portrays a domestic pig surrounded by ancient Chinese symbols of learning including scrolls of paper, a quill and a pot of ink. A stalk of bamboo to one side of the pig symbolises longevity and perseverance, virtues traditionally attributed to scholars. Also included in the design is a willow tree, representing the wisdom to adapt and the strength not to break. The inscriptions ‘WISDOM’ and ‘2019 YEAR OF THE PIG’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

Each set is housed in a classic display case within a themed shipper and accompanied by a Numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
