Mintage is the hard ceiling on supply: the number of examples the mint struck, ever. These are the twenty smallest documented editions currently in stock, from 69 pieces upward.
Finest Known: the Scarcest Census Positions
A finest-known example sits at the top of the grading service's population report: no example of that issue has graded higher. The list below ranks in-stock finest-known pieces by how few examples share their grade, per the latest population data we hold. Smaller population, scarcer position.

The register is compiled from each piece's documented mint edition figure and the grading services' population reports (NGC, PMG, PCGS, CGC), reconciled against our catalog on a recurring cycle. Only pieces currently in stock appear, so every entry can be examined in full, certification numbers included. Finest-known standings are based on the population reports referenced here, not a claim of universal market completeness.
Rarity is only one factor in collectibility. Demand, historical significance, condition, and collector interest also affect market prices. Grades reflect the issuing service's opinion; population figures change as submissions continue; nothing here is investment, financial, or appraisal advice. See our Terms of Service.
