This antiqued silver coin was inspired by the character D'Artagnan from "The Three Mustketeer's,"an 1844 novel by author Alexandre Dumas. Dumas based his character on Charles de Batz de Castelmore d'Artagnan, a Musketeers of the Guard captain who served King Louis XIV in the 17th century.

Gorgeously Detailed Imagery

Obverse: The obverse features a right facing crowned image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Accompanying inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II," "2021," "NIUE ISLAND," "1 DOLLAR," "AG 999" and the Lithuanian Mint's logo. British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley designed this rendition of the monarch in 1998.

Reverse: D'Artagnan is depicted on the reverse in a defensive pose, armed with a dagger and a gold colored sword. He's wearing the belted tunic indicative of his prestigious captain's rank, with a period type cap adorned with a golden feather. The king's palace appears in the background, with the phrase "ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL" inscribed across the fa?ade. The name "D'ARTAGNAN" curves above, within an intricate rose-chain border.
